Fun Stuff:

Disney Playhouse

What's Fun at the Disney Playhouse

hile the Disney Playhouse isn't really a physical location, it is a place where little ones can go to experience the best in Disney entertainment appropriate for their age level. The morning schedule of the popular Disney Channel is where you'll find the Disney Playhouse and any pre-schooler will no doubt be able to fill you on the latest antics of the friendly characters featured in these ˝ hour shows.

The creators of Disney Playhouse believe that "imagination and learning go hand-in-hand" and the shows strive to teach the children that watch them to become well-rounded young people. Early academics are stressed, as well as social skills, thinking skills, imagination and self-development, ethical development, daily living skills, and motor skills.

Six shows currently make up the Disney Playhouse line-up. They are Little Einsteins, Higglytown Heroes, Koala Brothers, Jo Jo's Circus, Stanley, and Rolie Polie Olie. Other old Disney Playhouse favorites, like Bear in the Big Blue House, can be found during the weekend Disney Channel schedule.

The characters in these Disney Playhouse shows are easy for children to relate to and are often small children, like themselves. Characters face a number of "dilemmas" for which they need to find solutions, therefore teaching viewers about problem solving and other solutions. Parents can be sure that they'll find nothing offensive on these shows and might even enjoy watching them with their children in order to reiterate the lessons taught at Disney Playhouse.

Disney Online also features a section specifically dedicated to Disney Playhouse shows, where kids can play online games, download activities, listen to music, and read fun online books with animated graphics. The online section even has tips for parents and activities adults can do to stress the lessons learned on the Disney Playhouse shows.

If you're planning a trip to Disney World, you'll even be able to find some of your favorite Disney Playhouse characters there, starring in stage shows or wondering the parks in search of little children to hug. Check out Playhouse Disney…Live Onstage! at Disney's MGM Studios for a fun musical review featuring many of your pre-schooler's favorites.

If you're lucky enough to enjoy a trip to Disney World or Disneyland, you'll be able to purchase stuffed versions of most of these characters as well as board games and other games that center on Disney Playhouse shows. You'll most likely find a number of the stuffed characters at The Disney Store in malls worldwide and can locate common board games at most toy store chains.

If you can't get enough of Disney Playhouse or your children have some favorite episodes that they enjoy watching over and over again, no problem. Most are episodes previously seen on TV but some are made especially for video viewing.

Ultimate Disney World Savings Guide

A few people have asked me about Beth Haworth's book "Ultimate Disney World Savings Guide", and were wondering what my take on it was. Given my reputation as a well known writer on the topic of Disney World, they thought I could give a fairly honest review.

So I clicked on over to Beth's website and snatched a copy for $30. I sat down and read it from "cover-to-cover" immediately.

Now keep in mind I already have extensive notes on saving money in Disney World, and I already have a pretty good list of the best hotels and restaurants. So I wasn't really sure what to expect.

But this book really impressed me.

It was well written, easy to read, and very comprehensive. The book was jam-packed with tips and inside information about places to go, things to see, the best attractions, restaurants, hotels... you name it, it's in there. It was also consistent with all of the things I already figured out from my own vacationing, and it also gave me some great new tips and tricks.

So now, I can finally give an honest recommendation for this book. I really loved it and it was worth every penny. The tips in the book allowed me to save about $550 dollars on my last weekend getaway.

You can grab a copy of Beth's Guide for only $30. It's available on her website and can be downloaded immediately. It's highly recommended for anyone who is interested in travelling to Disney. Even if you only on intend on going to Disney World once, it will not only save you time and money, it will also make your experience much more enjoyable.

Whatever you decide, be safe and most of all, enjoy your trip!
